SIGNAL COMPONENTS
Tipo de señal con dos linternas por pantalla, de colores fijos, usada entre Valparaíso y Santiago (I Zona) y entre Santiago y San Bernardo (II Zona). Normalmente debe haber sólo una linterna encendida en cada pantalla, y en sólo una pantalla, esta puede ser verde, salvo en caso de que exista una Señal Principal y una Repetidora en un mismo Poste.

Los Colores utilizados en las Linternas y su significado son: / The Colors utilized in the Flashlights and its meaning are:
Verde: Avanzar / Green: Proceed
Amarillo: Avanzar con precaución a velocidad restringida / Yellow: Proceed carefully, restricted speed
Violeta: Avanzar con mucha precaución a velocidad muy restringida / Violet: Proceed very carefully, very restricted speed
Rojo: Detención / Red: Stop
El Poste está pintado con la máxima restricción que posee la Señal que sostiene, en franjas diagonales alternadas con franjas blancas, excepto las Señales Repetidoras que son pintadas de un solo color.

En 1995 se desmanteló este sistema de señalización entre las estaciones San Pedro y Yungay.
